LAS VEGAS

THE FIRST STOP ON OUR SOUTHWEST ADVENTURE WAS LAS VEGAS. SINCE McCARRAN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT WAS THE CLOSET TO MOST POINTS OF INTEREST ON OUR OUR TRIP, WE FIGURED WE'D KICK OFF THE ADVENTURE THERE TO SEE WHAT VEGAS WAS ALL ABOUT. WE STAYED AT PALMS PLACE CASINO JUST OFF THE STRIP AND FOUND THE ROOM TO BE LARGER THAN OUR PREVIOUS NEW YORK CITY STUDIO. IT CAME EQUIPPED WITH A MODERN KITCHEN, LIVING AREA AND EVEN A JACUZZI. DAVE WAS EVEN ABLE TO PREP OUR CAMPING DINNER FOR THE FOLLOWING NIGHT, WHICH WAS SUPER HELPFUL.

WE DID THE TYPICAL SIGHTSEEING ALONG THE STRIP AND PERUSED THE FAMOUS FORUM SHOPS. WE WATCHED THE FOUNTAINS AT THE BELLAGIO AND VARIOUS STREET ARTISTS PERFORM ALONG OUR WALK. SINCE IT WAS A TRAVEL DAY AND TECHNICALLY OUR BODIES THOUGHT IT WAS THREE HOURS LATER, WE BOTH GREW TIRED PRETTY QUICKLY. WE ENDED UP BACK AT OUR HOTEL FOR A COUPLE OF NICE, HEARTY BURGERS ON THE ROOF AND ULTIMATELY WENT STRAIGHT TO BED. WE WOKE UP TO THE SUN RISING OVER THE STRIP, ANXIOUS FOR WHAT ADVENTURES LAID AHEAD. OUR NEXT STOP WAS THE HOOVER DAM.
