I PRIDE MYSELF ON KNOWING GOOD ICE CREAM, IT'S MY FAVORITE FOOD AFTER ALL. I CAN EAT IT ANYTIME, ANY PLACE, ANY WEATHER. THIS WEEKEND I VISTED ONE OF MY FAVORITE ICE CREAM SHOPS, ODDFELLOWS. THE ORIGINAL SHOP IS IN WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN AND LAST SUMMER THEY OPENED UP A SECOND SHOP ON 4TH STREET IN MANHATTAN. THIS SUMMER, THEY TURNED IT INTO "THE SANDWICH SHOP". YOU CAN CUSTOMIZE YOUR TREAT OR CHOOSE FROM THE FLAVOR CONCOCTIONS CREATED BY ODDFELLOWS CHEFS, MOHAN, HOLIDAY AND SAM. DON'T STRESS TOO HARD, ANY COMBINATION IS TO DIE FOR.

I HAVE NO SHAME IN ADMITTING I DEVOURED TWO ODDPOCKETS. AN ODDPOCKET IS A BRIOCHE BUN FILLED WITH ICE CREAM AND VARIOUS TOPPINGS, THEN SEALED WITH HEAT. I COULD BARELY DECIDE ON WHAT TO GET, I EASILY COULD HAVE EATEN ONE OF EVERYTHING. WE ENDED UP ORDERING A BROWN BUTTER SAGE WITH SPICY ALMONDS AND ONE CORNBREAD WITH BLUEBERRY COMPOTE AND CORNFLAKE CRISPIES. AND LET ME TELL YOU, THERE WAS NO SHORTAGE OF HOMEMADE HONEY CARAMEL DRIZZLED OVERTOP EACH POCKET. ONE BITE AND DEAD. JUST DEAD. THEY WERE SO MAGNIFICENT IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE. IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING ELSE TO TRY, MAY I SUGGEST ONE OF THEIR FRESH MADE WAFFLE CONES FILLED WITH SCOOPS OF OLIVE OIL, BUTTERMILK HONEY BLUEBERRY, S'MORES, OR OATMEAL COOKIE DOUGH.
