GOALS

I RAN MY FIRST RACE ALMOST FOUR YEARS AGO TO THE DAY. IT WAS A HALF MARATHON IN NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE COMPLETE WITH AMPLE HILLS, COW BELLS AND CROWDS. I TOOK A SHOT OF JACK DANIELS MOMENTS AFTER CROSSING THE FINISH LINE AND SIGNED UP FOR MY NEXT ONE A DAY LATER.

OVER THE YEARS I'VE HAD THE PRIVILEGE OF RUNNING A HANDFUL OF RACES. AND RACE AFTER RACE I'M DRIVEN FURTHER INTO THE HEART OF THE SPORT. FOR MOST RUNNERS, QUALIFYING FOR THE BOSTON MARATHON IS A COMMON GOAL. IT'S ONE OF THE MOST PRESTIGIOUS MARATHONS THERE IS, YET ONLY FEW CAN ATTAIN IT'S ELUSIVE QUALIFYING TIME. THIS FALL I WILL BE RUNNING THE CHICAGO MARATHON. IT'S A FAST AND FLAT COURSE IN WHICH I PLAN TO QUALIFY FOR BOSTON.

WITH SOME INSPIRATION FROM TRACKSMITH RUNNING, THERE WILL BE LITTLE TO NO DAYS OFF IN THE NEXT SIX MONTHS. BECAUSE EVEN A REST DAY IS A WORK DAY, FULL OF MOBILITY AND STRETCHING, REHYDRATING AND FUELING. I AM BEYOND EXCITED TO KICK TRAINING INTO A MORE SERIOUS GEAR AND PROVE TO MYSELF THAT THIS GOAL IS MORE ATTAINABLE THEN EVER. LET THE FUN BEGIN.
