NIKE GO NYC 5K

Sunday night about 7,000 souls took on the Manhattan Bridge at sunset. It was epic, to say the least. Nike hosted the 5K as a part of its brand campaign "choose go", a series of running events held all over the world. New York's race started in downtown Brooklyn and ended at Pier 36 on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Runners were greeted with fried chicken sandwiches courtesy of Momofuku, salads from Sweetgreen, swag bags packed full from Kindbar and cases of WellWell's recovery watermelon tart cherry juice upon crossing the neon finish line at Basketball City. But the main event was a post race concert from Diplo.

Nike never disappoints. Everything from race organization, course route, entertainment and refreshments, top to bottom, is done so well. After the race and a quick refuel, I stood in the crowd letting the music fill my ears as confetti shot out above. It was impossible to stay still. I'm confident I would never voluntarily go to a Diplo concert, not my scene, however, I couldn't help but love his set and energy. Special thank you to Nike and it's event partners for putting on such a rad event. Nike sure knows how to crush a Sunday.
